Saving emitters in different directories
Posted by Jack Mcguinness on July 2, 2006 at 3:56 pmHi!
I wonder how I can save an emitter I just created in a certain directory.
For example this latest emitter contains a name… and of reasons that is understandable I want to save this emitter where I have others on the same theme!
Please tell me how?

July 3, 2006 at 4:12 pmYou can save the emitter in a project file anywhere you want.
You can also save the current emitter library anywhere you want.
I have a feeling I don’t understand what you’re asking.
Alan.

July 3, 2006 at 5:59 pmPerhaps by directories he means libraries. If so, you can right-click on the emitter in the stage and choose Add to Library, or hit the Add to Library button in the emitters Properties.

July 3, 2006 at 7:54 pmWhat you are calling a directory, we call a library file (with the .il3 extension), and I guess that’s where the confusion lies. There are a few ways to save that file.
Since you already have that emitter saved into one library, you can copy it to the JackMcGuinness library through the Library Manager. Hit Ctrl+M to open it up. On the top left of the interface, check the name of the library that is loaded into the left hand panel. Hit the Load button and find your JackMcGuiness.il3, which will then be loaded up into the left-hand panel. In the lower center panel, you should have a window that lists all your libraries. Scroll through that list until you see the logo_01.il3, and select it. The list of its emitters will appear in the right-hand panel. Now you can select the “JMG Growing 2” emitter and hit the Add button, which will drop it over into the JackMcGuinness library.
