I’m encountering a bit of confusion when I load and then try to save a project after adding some work to it. When I load a project, say Emu.aep, the project loads correctly and is identified in the project window as “Emu.aep”, but when I go to save or do an incremental save I’m prompted to “save as ‘unamed project”. Saving this way seems to end up nesting projects within projects. The only way I seem to be able to open a project and have AE recognize it is to bring it in from the “recently saved” list.

Am I missing something, or is this the way it works?

    Thanks

How exactly are you trying to open your project? It sounds like you are not opening your previously-saved AEP file, but rather importing it into a blank project.
