I have Photoshop CS2 and for the life of me can’t figure out why whenever i make a file, the save dialog box does not offer me JPEG version. It only offers me; photoshop, cineon, PDF, RAW, PNG, and TIF. What am I doing wrong?

You might consider reinstalling Photoshop, or looking into the help files. I don’t have a copy of the software with me right now, but I’m pretty sure that support for a given format is determined by plug-ins that reside in some deep dark place in the Photoshop folder.

I think you may need to change your working colour bit rate. Go to Image / Mode & at the bottom of the drop down check “8 Bits/Channel”. Any other setting limits your ability to save as a JPEG.
    Hope this helps you.

Yes, I finally figured out last night that I had my Mode settings on 16 bit, changing it to 8 bit solved the problem. You live and You Learn. Thanks for your help
