Saves taking ages
I having some pretty bad behaviour from an FCP suit I am working on. Autosaves are taking upwards of a minute each, which is a total pain. If I go into finder and back into FCP the system locks (swirling colour wheel) for about a minute.
This happens on every project – even a new, empty one.
Any suggestions what could be causing this?

Using FCP6 on a dual 2.7GHz G5. Media is external ethernet (I think) raid. 4GB RAM. Blackmagic HDTV card.

Have you tried trashing prefs and repairing permissions? How full is your scratch dive?
