Save trimmed clips with Proyect Manager
Hi. I´m using a lot of.mov files (AVCHD) in a Windows CS5.5 (5.5.2) proyect which want to save trimmed as a trimmed backup of the proyect. After selecting “Create new trimmed proyect” in Proyect Manager no clip is trimmed and all the files used in timeline maintain their original length in the trimmed backup folder. Is it possible that this could be caused by the format of codec used to generate the original clips? Anyone has experienced the same issue? How could it be done to save only used parts of clips in timeline then?

Yes, in my experience it is related to the codec. I had this happen with a show cut with h.264 (Long GOP compression). The clips cant be shortened due to the way they are being compressed.

Ok, that´s why avchd is not a recommended format for editing. This issue doesn´t happens with DV footage.

Its OK to edit with it. You just cant save the project in a judicious manner by only saving the clips in the timeline. Everything gets saved. Glad to help!
