  • Save Project not working

Posted by Mike Kahn on December 10, 2007 at 7:35 pm

Not sure if anyone has had this problem, but if I use the keyboard shortcut to save my project, it appears to save but when I look at the file it doesn’t show that it was. I have to use “Save Project as” to get it to save properly.

I have trashed preferences and done permission repairs. None have worked.

    Any ideas?

I am on FCP 6.0.2 OS Tiger 10.4.11

Do you have this particular project “locked.”
It won’t save if its icon is locked.

I don’t think so. I don’t see a lock icon on the project icon.

What happens when you try SAVE one of the “Save Project as” copies you create?

I go to the folder where the project file lives and click on the project (which is grayed out) to keep the same name and it asks if I want to overwrite. I click yes and it saves. Occasionally, it will give me an error saying “unknown file” but if I do this process again it will save correctly.

This happens with all projects, not just one in case you think it’s a project specific problem.
