This may be more of an AE question rather than a pure scripting question. But say i have a null with a set of expression sliders, checkboxes and rotation controls id like to make an effect, not an “animation preset”, but an .ffx file i can save and later apply to nulls in other projects. Do i use the script editor?

Ive figured out how to save the actual sliders and stuff, but how do i get it to save the expressions used on the null with them?

you need to select the parameters that have the expressions…

i usually select the layer that has the settings i want to make into a preset in the timeline, hit ‘uu’ (that’s 2 letter u’s) to reveal the modified parameters, including those with expressions.

then i select the parameters/properties that i want to include in the preset from there. then save those as a preset. it should include the expressions too.
