Seagate or Hitachi. 7200 RPM. Format them Mac OS Extended after you install them.

Maxtor’s a viable alternative now. The warranty and performance of the MaxLineIII (and the 3 year warranty DiamondMaxIII) is better than Seagate or Hitachi. Check out the reviews for any drive on storagereview.com, they compare a number of drives to the one they’re reviewing, or barefeats.com. The Maxtor line is always the best performing drive or in a tie with the Hitachis. Seagates and especially Western Digital lag far behind.
