SATA Drive Storage
We will begin shooting on the Sony EX-3 soon and I want to update our drive storage solution for more capacity, faster performance, and better backup. We edit on a PowerMac G-5 Quad (4×2.5). I’m looking at buying 2 of the Firmtek 5-Bay enclosures.

I want to fill each bay with 1TB Seagate drives.

Both units will be RAID 0. One will be a primary editing drive, the other will be a backup drive. Now I would like to have the option of connecting 4 SATA’s at once and Firmtek does not have a 4-port card for the Quad G-5, so instead I’m looking at the CalDigit Fasta 4e 4-port card.

Any thoughts on this set up? Good idea? Bad idea?
Thanks!
