I recently downloaded a complimentary trial of the Sapphire plug-ins for Final Cut Pro version 5.0.4. Our director liked the effects so much that we may consider buying the plug-ins. Which leads to my question: Can the Sapphire plug-ins be loaded into both Adobe AE and FCP/Motion, or would we have to purchase 2 separate sets of plug ins for each application? Additionally – and this may be a question for the Adobe AE and Motion User Groups – we’re thinking of doing the following: our show was shot using the Viper camera, in the film stream, onto HDCAM SR, 1920×1080, 4:4:4. We’d like to take the necessary files (10 bit, uncompressed) into either Motion or Adboe, apply the effects ourselves, and the have the new files laid back onto HDCAM SR 4:4:4 for our online. Is this possible with either application?

    Thank you

    Ian

Hi iesilver; one Sapphire license works for all AE-compatible apps on a single machine. So if you have FCP, Motion and AE on your Mac, one license will work for all of them.
