SANmp worked pretty well for us on OS 10.6.8, but on 10.8.3 it consistently fails to synchronize (refresh volumes).

What are you all using out there? I tend to trust the simplicity of volume level locking, but, look where that got me, heh. So open to file level if you guys say it’s good.

We are currently 5 edit/capture stations on Rorke hardware with Atto Fiber channel, doing mostly FCP 7 for now, will be moving to Premiere or FCP X.

    Hi David,

There is a bug in Finder in recent versions of Mac OS which may be biting you. The problem is that Finder will not always show updates, even when SANmp and the rest of the OS do notice the change. You can verify whether this is your problem by looking at which files are there through something other than Finder. For example, using the File->Open dialog in another application.

I’ve seen some people report that using the autosync setting can help mitigate the problem, but in my tests, it didn’t seem to make any difference. It does seem to be isolated to Finder when I try this on my system, however.

    Regards,
    Jason
