    Alex,

You should surf around this site a bit. I think Mark’s joking sarcasm was lost on you. I would venture to say that most of these forums require a thicker skin… or it’s just that in the written form jokes and banter are often misinterpreted.

    Hi Alex,

Also check out Editshare, they do media sharing and project sharing for FCP an Avid and many other cool multi-platform suport perks. Their user interface is pretty simple and easy to use as well. They have a ethernet based architecture (1&10 GBit) and are a cost effective solution if you do not already have lots of fiber already in place. I have seen first hand that their customer support is top notch.

It is worth a look before you invest your hard earned cash, the ROI is pretty self evident.

    Thanks Jordan:

I appreciate your email, the truth is I have no time for dealing with such stupid responses, I am trying to run a business, it takes most of my life.

Thanks Eric, I have looked into EditShare, it seems cool but I think they are only Ethernet and not Fiber so I don’r know how that will handle the uncompressed HD.

    Hi Alex,

Have no fear 10GbE can handle multiple uncompressed HD streams no problem look futher into it and do not believe all the fiber hype

Interesting, I’ll give them a call. Do you think it could work for Smoke on a Mac.

    Thanks,

I am not too sure about Smoke on Mac. It works with Avid, FCP, and lightworks opensource (check out the free demo on their site lightworks is impressive). You should contact them and ask if they have done a bench test or if they will do one for you. You should also confirm with Facilis or any other options how it works with SFM if that is your need.
