I bought this wireless lav system from B&H when I bought my HMC 150. It seems to have a lot of static. It sounds bad to me.

Im wondering if its just what you get $200 or if there is something wrong with it or something that im not adjusting correctly?

    Anyone have any insight?

Have you read the instructions regarding minimizing interference? Shouldn’t be unusable. Then again a high quality wireless mic can be $500+.

My very first wireless mic system was a Samson UM1, and I hated it. The audio quality that I was hoping for was never there.

Several years later I switched to a Sennheiser G2 system with a TRAM 50 lav, and was finally able to get really good audio.

I know it’s a cliche, but you definitely get what you pay for.

How much was the system that you were happy with? Any info or links to a good system?

The Sennheiser G2 / G3 EW100 system costs about $600, and then you will want to add a good quality lav mic to it.

My favorite general purpose lav is the TRAM 50, which has good sound, and does not pick up much room noise. The TRAM 50 kit for Sennheiser costs about $250.

Yes, $850 is not cheap, but it’s definitely worth it for the quality of sound it captures.
