    Just drop your audio on any standard sequence.
    By default, FCs audio is set to 48Khz.
    You can use QT as well.

    Only put 48 khz sample rate audio into a FCP sequence which should always be set to 48khz. Do it before you import and drop into FCP. Only aif or wav files are acceptable. mp3 or aac behave badly. Also make sure your default FCP project matches the frame rate of your current project exactly.

    Quicktime Pro, Compressor and lots of free audio software like Audacity can sample rate convert.
