Same space, two colors

I have two 3D shape layers, perpendicularly oriented to each other, that meet at one edge. Where they meet they occupy the same space. Therefore I get weird color issues where I see one color “through” the other. Is there a way to give one color/shape priority over another where they occupy the same space?
