I’d like to layer the same footage on top of itself, but have the top layer use the footage’s alpha channel, while the bottom layer ignores the alpha channel.

    How would one do that?

    THANKS!

[Eric Chard] “I’d like to layer the same footage on top of itself, but have the top layer use the footage’s alpha channel, while the bottom layer ignores the alpha channel.”

On the bottom layer, apply the Set channels effect [link] and set the alpha to full.

Alternately, import the footage twice and set the alpha interpretation of one version to “Ignore.”
