Yes, we’ve already seen this elsewhere on the COW posted by Fernando Mol, it is well-designed and easy to follow, and the information is thought-provoking. To me the interesting thing was the breakdown between those who considered themselves “compositors”, and those who primarily thought of themselves as “motion artists”, the irony being that they tend to use all the same tools but have a higher disparity of salary. I think maybe the numbers could be skewed by compositors working in films, counting extra work like rotoscoping and keys, etc. where the motion designers might be more compartmentalized into “guys who creatively fly animated type around”. You and I know there’s more to it than that.
