  • Safe to update from premiere 7.2.2 to CC 2014?

Posted by Tom Laughlin on June 21, 2014 at 4:28 pm

I’m editing on premiere cc 7.2.2, and the new version came out, any issues or changes or fixes or new features? Always nervous updating or upgrading during editing. Let me know your thoughts!

It’s safe to update because the 14 package installs in a separate structure and doesn’t replace your existing CC installation. That lets you see both versions so you can make the decision.

2014 is a seperate install. Its kind of an upgrade instead of an update.
    CC and 2014 happily co-excist.

So abandon editing in 7.2.2 and just start editing with 2014, all edits from here on? Is this like going from avid 6 to avid 7? I’m no longer in between projects, so I guess I’ll start using 2014 from here on, if there’s no need to stay in 7.2.2, am I right everyone?!

I’m having trouble with playback on my Aja IO XT. I’ve updated the driver and the Adobe plugin. Anyone else having sluggish playback?
