    If you had the right equipment, what format would you digitize S-VHS videotapes to? The objective being, to preserve them as digital video on computer storage at best possible quality, “future proofing” them for any possible format?

    Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2 720×486 video in a Quicktime wrapper, per Rec. 601? Or 720×480?

    Definitely NOT uncompressed, it creates a huge file that is WAY overkill for what you’re doing. Pro Res 422 is more than adequate.
