I am looking for some very cool Russian fonts but all I seem to be able to find are basic fonts that are kind of boring.

Anyone know where there are good Russian font resources that I can download for my Mac wiithout being able to read Russian?

    Thanks in advance.

Umm, have you actually considered buying them? Pretty much every popular font these days is available with a cyrillic version or has cyrillic glyphs built-in if it’s OpenType. You won’t find good stuff for free, it’s as simple as that. There are too few Russian sci-fi series to create a fan crowd that will re-create the fonts. *lol* What are you specifically looking for?

As long as they didn’t cost a fortune I’d consider buying. I am re-tooling a TV show for possible Russian re-sale and just need a cool macho font for lower thirds and tiles. It’s a fight show so it has to be sort of manly and cool.

Purchased my Helvetica version of Cyrillic yesterday. Looks great. Works perfectly in FCP. In Aft5er Effects and Photoshop, all I get are question marks.

Did you ever figure out why the russian fonts came up as question marks in After Effects?
    It’s happening to me too.
    Thanks

What Font program did you buy and how did you achieve the translation?

I downloaded a cyrillic ttf from eagle Fonts.com that looked really great. I was able to select the font in FCP and super the cyrillic characters over the video. It worked great. I closed FCP and restarted it. I again selected the Cyrillic font but this time the font was displayed in standard english characters. Any idea why this would be?
