    Hi,

this is driving me insane, any help would be tremendously and wholeheartedly appreciated!!!

Upon startup of After Effects CS3 i receive a “Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error, -R6025 Pure Virtual Function Call”

    which cancels the entire setup.

I’ve tried all of these strategies:
    -deleting and re-installing the program
    -deleted the preference files.
    -removing the opengl plugin
-creating a different admin account and installing under that

I know another strategy is to reinstall the system, but I don’t want to go that route quite yet.

Does anybody have a solution to this??!

Thanks in advance for anyhelp thrown my way!

Try to repair the system with your installation disk and if that doesnt work you will probably have to do a complete restoration.

This wouldn’t happen to be a *cough* special copy of AE, would it? If this is a legit copy, I’d give Adobe a call — sounds like s problem they might have previous experience with.

Thank God I didnt have to reinstall the system… because it was already on a machine that was downconverted from vista to xp pro.

Anyway, my tech friend was able to solve the problem, it was probably a recently installed screen capture software…

however we still had to run the adobecs3cleaner program and he had to go through and really scope out all the .dll files…

pain in the but, its always good to have a techy friend…

Just an FYI about the “SPECIAL” copy…

I’ve had this same error and I do have a legit copy. When I called Adobe they said to run a script they gave which the Tech kindly labeled as “Death to Adobe” – anyway, this one does happen to legits as well –

hi, just wanted to know if that “screen capture software” was SnagIt or Camtasia Studio by any chance? Do you recall…?
