Running paint effect with an image
What I want to achieve is taking an image and making it look like its made of paint with heavy gravity making the image run like wet paint and melt away revealing a second image behind it.
I found lots of tutorials with Particular, but that was using particle generators and not the actual image.
The closest example I have is from the original Doom game, the transition at 5 seconds. I want to make it like that except not pixelated. Thanks!

I would try the Liquify effect. Here’s a quick tutorial on it:

I already tried liquify with CC Smear and got this, but it’s not quite the gravity running paint effect that I want.

I would think you’d have to use a much smaller brush size and take more time with the effect. While it won’t be exactly like a paint effect, you could get closer. Still, that’s not bad at all…
