Running Media Composer on one monitor
I just installed Media Composer on my one (30″) monitor system. Is there a way to optimize MC for one monitor or does it have to be run on two? When I try to arrange the timeline, source/record windows, etc. within the confines of one monitor, they “jump around” or move offscreen. Also, I know that there are dialogue boxes that pop up that I can’t access.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Chris,
I take it you are in one of your toolsets, like Source/Record Editing. Move everything around to your liking. Then, click on “Toolset,” and select “Save Current.” Next time you come back, the bins, source/record monitor placement and size, etc., should line up where you left them.
Also, if you work to get your timeline to look like you want it to (Sample Plot on, etc.), click on the bottom left of the timeline where it is marked “View Menu” and save your timeline settings there. Be sure to name it something you will remember on future projects.

Also, you might want to think about using SUPERBINS….that is one window for multiple bins. This is a huge space saver.
30″ is luxury. Try using Avid on a 15″ laptop!
