I haven’t purchased Cinema 4D yet and was wondering if this chipset is o.k. to run the software effectively. Or do I need a dedicated graphics card?

    Thanks,

    Tony,

I am running R13 on a 2012 MacPro 12 core with a 5770, and it works just fine. In fact, today I was going through the preferences and checked the GPU acceleration tab and it said my card was qualified for full GPU acceleration. I’m a new user, but no one else was answering, so if there’s an issue using the card, someone else can feel free to chime in. But I’ve done some pretty heavy renders recently, with no crashes or noticeable problems.

    David,

Thanks for the response. I only posted because Maxon recommended on their site to use chipsets from AMD or NVIDIA, so I was a tad confused. I’m running OS X 10.6.8 on a 2012 Mac Pro so I’ll check the acceleration tab.

    Thanks again,
    Tony

AMD bought ATI so your ATI Radeon 5770 is fine.
