Posted by Christopher Tay on June 29, 2006 at 1:25 amHi,
Just wanna check if anyone is running anti-spy or anti-virus software on their FCP systems and if that has given any kind of problems or even recommended ?
Thanks,

June 29, 2006 at 3:20 amFCP is Mac only. I’ve never seen a virus or spyware on OSX. Not saying it can’t happen, but until it does, backup often and forget about anti-virus software.

Running something like Norton Anti-Virus on your Mac will interfere with FCP’s capture process unless you turn off the “Auto Protect” feature. There have been numerous posts in the past of FCP users that were having big time capture problems until it was discovered their Norton program was running in the background.
