    FCP is Mac only. I’ve never seen a virus or spyware on OSX. Not saying it can’t happen, but until it does, backup often and forget about anti-virus software.

    Running something like Norton Anti-Virus on your Mac will interfere with FCP’s capture process unless you turn off the “Auto Protect” feature. There have been numerous posts in the past of FCP users that were having big time capture problems until it was discovered their Norton program was running in the background.

    Don’t run any anti virus / anti spyware software on your FCP based Mac, period.
