I’ve been plagued with this for some time; invariably getting Dropped-Frame warnings during playback. Mostly 10-bit stuff, one ot two video layers, sometimes with dissolves, speed effects, etc. thrown on them. Even if I render my timeline I end up getting frequent warnings.

I’m set to ‘Safe RT’, only have one sequence open, no other apps running, and maybe 4 to 6 audio layers on my timeline. Could my crappy 64MB (VRAM) ATI Radeon 9600 Pro graphics card be a factor? Also, I’ve got 3 LaCie drives mounted to a secondary firewire(400) bus. The Io box is the only firewire device connected to the native bus.

Dual 2GB G5, FCP 5.0.2, Aja Io (w/ V2 drivers), Xserve RAID, SDI, etc.

    Thanks.

What are you using for media storage. Not the FW 400 drives I hope!

No, god no. I’m using an 800GB Xserve RAID.
