When in sequence setting (in final cut) I use blackmagic in compressor (quicktime video settings) in my RT extreme menu, all the setting disappear, I alno get option “Play base layer only”. and as I understand this means that I don’t get the real time in Final Cut Pro. So why is that?

And also can anyone tell me difference between:
Blackmagic 10 bit (DV10) and Blackmagic RGB 10 bit
    or
    Blackmagic 8 bit (2Vuy) and 8 bit (DV00)

is blackmagic RGB 10 bit better than uncompressed 10bit 4:2:2? Please consider, that I shoot on 35mm film, than telecine it at 1920X1080 resolution, and after editing I sometimes print back to film. So is blackmagic good codec for using this way?

Oh, and I have blackmagic HD pro (single link).

To take advantage of RT effects in FCP, capture and edit using apple’s “uncompressed 10bit 4:2:2”. Also set effects handling of 10-bit to FCP

This is as advised in the decklink manuals. In fact their Easy Setup’s select apple’s 10-bit codec.

Apparently the “Blackmagic Uncompressed 10-bit” codec works better than apple’s as an output module for 16-bit projects in after effects. The drawback is there are no RT effects.
