    I have an AJA ioLA connected to a Sony DSR20 DVCAM deck (s-video) and a Sony UVW1800 BetaSP deck (component). I’m using the RS422 control from the AJA to control the Beta deck, but the DSR20 has RS232, so I’ve tried using firewire to control the DSR20, but the firewire connection for the AJA seems to be conflicting with the firewire I

    One off the top of my head is the Rosetta Stone (https://www.addenda-elect.com/product.htm. Any 9-pin A/B box should do the trick.

    Someone else suggested I buy a RS232 to USB converter and create an easy setup for each deck.

    I like the serial port option – I never use it anymore, and it leaves my USB ports for other things (which are more common nowadays). Check out a Keyspan adapter (https://www.keyspan.com/products/homepage-Serial.spml) – it might be what you are looking for…
