I ran into this terrible problem right now on a project. Hope you can help me please!!!

Rendered a Vray RPF (16bts) sequence from max with obj id and depth of field selected.

As always doing my post I select the 3d channel and ad Depth of field… but now I get these strange ugly

looking artifacts around the character that is in focus.

Any idea what this is? I attached a pic for you to see.

I love the 3d channel depth of field and can work fast with it, specially now I am really behind deadline wth this

project. I do have a separate Zdepth layer but I am not familiar wth the workflow… hope I can get 3d chanel depth of field working correctly so I can continue.

I was really hoping you can advice me on this.

I’m not sure what’s the issue is with your PRFs but you should be able to tighten/soften the edge of your foreground object with one of the Matte effects.

    Hello Ali

This happens many time with RPF using Z-depth. AFAIK The problem is because of nasty edges in alpha channel.

I do have a separate Zdepth layer but I am not familiar wth the workflow

Precompose the whole scene, then apply Lens Blur effect and Choose your Depth Map in Depth Map channel instead of Luminance.

    Hope this may help
