I am creating very simple animated lowers in After Effects.

When importing into MC, I get very crunchy edges.

Nice and clean in AE, but text looks awful in the Avid.

AE settings are best quality, 720X486,

RGB and Alpha. I have tried Animation codec

    and AVI, same result.

Import settings in Avid are 601, no resizing,

    lower field first(DV rez)

This happens once in awhile and I need

    to correct, thanks!

Are your playback settings set to Yellow / Green? Or Green / Green?

    Which playback settings, where?

Bottom of timeline has the playback quality setting. anything less than full may give poor results. Also DV res isn’t ideal as it’s 5:1 compressed (but the alpha should be uncompressed so it should look reasonable)

    Already set at best, thanks.
I am stuck with DV at work – for now,
    and the monitor situation here
    is not the best.

I viewed on my external NTSC monitor
at home and it looks fine.
I gather it is the computer monitor
    color space difference. It’s odd,
    as this has happened previously
    but does not always manifest.
