When I use the effect plastic wrap to a vector shape, it gives the shape kinda rough edges. Is there a way to work around this problem?
    Thanks in advance!

Your problem stems from having to ow resolution, but the vector path would give a crisp hard edge when printed, but the detail of the effect within the vector paths woudl be low quality.

All the effects on the bottom half of the effects are bitmapped so we generally do not use them in Illustrator. You would have better control/feddback by opening your Illustrator in Phothoshop in a resolution you can control and apply plastic wrap there. If you do not have Photohshop then choose Object >> Rasterize and choose a higher resolution (atleast 300).
