Rotoscoping or other technique to remove object from shot?
Hello, I’m currently at Uni and for one of our group projects, I have been tasked to remove items from the shot that could not have been removed in production.
It’s a period drama (exciting for Uni, I know) and we had permission to film in an old-style city hall, and a bar, and a hotel that still have 1920’s decor.
But, there are some things that could not be removed or for some reason, were not covered up. Such as electrical sockets and green fire exit signs. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to remove these from shot, without doing an exhausting frame-by-frame process.
What I was thinking was, bring it in to Photoshop, cover it up professionally there, bring the .png cover up back into After Effects and motion track it (would need help with this, not really done motion tracking before) If an actor or other obstruction came into shot, then I would simply mask around the object in question.
Can anyone help me out with this? Thank you very much.
