    Hi Ricardo,
    I don’t think you need to rotoscope.
    If you are using “lighter”, you need thyat the intersection of the two actors, the background be always darker. Try just to dark that area of the background with a mask with soft edges. With those pictures i think it can work very well.

    You need to make the are of the picture under the lady pure black. so you see just the lady. From the black,the guy fade in.
    The point is to fake that is the shadow of the lady what makes part of the guy behind darker. With any other background/lighting this couldn’t work. In the picture you posted I think would work. The rest would depends very much of the movement of the actors and the contrast of the pictures.
    Start trying try some oval shape with soft borders.
