    Hi

I am trying to teach myself some basic effects within after effects – mainly with the rotoscope tool. But whenever I try and rotoscope the area I want to isolate the rotoscope is never as precise and even create little rotoscoped shapes within the area I have rotoscoped. So I rotoscope around a guy and within that area there are other little rotoscoped areas appearing and however many times I try and erase them with ALT rotoscope tool they just won’t go??

Any help would be much appreciated

rotoscoping is a giant pain in the ass for a reason.

The rotoscope tool used RGB values to determine if a pixel is part of the image or not. If the background is similar to the rotoscope, then it gets tough. If the background is choppy (like a tree), again, the tool gets confused.

    There are two other techniques:

    1. Use the mask tool.
    2. Use Mocha.

These are all difficult pain staking-ly tedious tasks, so be sure to charge real money!
