How do I take the video I have, taken with a Video phone, transfer it to my computer, chop it up into separate frames/pictures, and most easily rotoscope the frames and add effects??

I think you can email yourself the video. That should get it onto your PC. You’ll need to check your phone’s manual to find out how to email.

Once on the computer, After Effects might be able to open the video, but if not, you’ll have to process it through something that can. Check out Virtual Dub. That software should probably be able to help.

Once in AE, you can either export the video as an image sequence, (in the output options) or apply effects in AE. Animating masks is probably the easiest roto option for you. Athough AE does also have paint tools

    Hope that helps
