I have a rotational tracking shot that I need smoothed out because it’s jumpy with a few stops and starts.

I’ve tried stock stabilizers such as the CS6 Warp Stabilizer as well as SmoothCam, but they don’t correct manual errors like this.

    Here’s the shot: https://vimeo.com/60215161
    password is dust

The dolly grip was unable to give me a smooth move, so I have a crucial shot that is somewhat jerky.

I thought I could zoom in and manually control the move, compensating for the timing of the stops and starts, but I can’t get around the fact that the background stops moving behind the actor and it comes off looking bad.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hey,

first thing on my mind ist to rotoscope him out, replace the BG (maybe you can fix yourself a cleanPlate), and animate the BG smothly back in.
The starts and stops don´t look so bad/big on the supject.

    Hope this helps!
    Greetings
