I feel stupid for years I’ve used AE and I just picked up a copy of AE 7.0. I’m trying to do a simple rotation like I’ve always done on objects, only now instead of using the objects anchor point to rotate on it seems to rotate on the images full screen anchor point. So when something is brought in as a composition on the left side of the screen its anchor point is now center screen instead of the objects center point. What am I doing wrong? It’s the same with scale also.

It’s hard to tell from here, sorry. But you’re going to enjoy your new application in just a few hundred hours.

I’ve been on 7 since it first shipped. There are some subtle differences in how the interface works but they do not extend to layer controls. Have you tried moving the anchor point back to the center of the object? There is no option for anchor point to be anywhere but in the center.

I’ve got to stoop so low as to suggest you maybe start with the basics tutorial. I just do not see where you can be mistaking how the controls are used or how the layers are handled in 7.0, it’s really no different than earlier versions.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
