  • Rotating Animated Objects in Cinema4D

    Hi, I have a Cinema4D 11 question.

I’ve used keyframes to animate a ball that bounces along a street. I’d like to make copies of it in order to have lots of balls going in different directions. Is there any way of flattening the animation so i can rotate not only the object but also the animation path?

    Many thanks

You can bake the animation using the Timeline>Function>Bake Objects command, but that will create a key on every frame which uses a lot of RAM.

Instead, you might want to use Tools>Animation mode. That allows you to move and rotate animated objects *and* their animation paths at the same time.

    Howdy,

You could put the ball under a parent Null object, and rotate the Heading of the Null object. This would give you a different direction.

Remember that all animation keys are in local coordinate space, so the ball’s animation would be local to it’s parent Null in the above scenario.
