  • Rotate objects along a path (without the Auto Orientation)

Posted by Giacomo Leonardi on September 5, 2015 at 10:09 pm

Hello,I’m new to After Effects, and I havent found any tutorial that explains what to do in cases like mine.
What I wanted to do was just to slightly rotate an object while it moves along a path, multiple times.
The Auto Orientation feature won’t help, since the object just have to follow a linear path.
    Thanks for the help,
    Giacomo.

copy path or position keyframes? I’m not sure what you mean.

if you need random motion, you could add wiggle() to the rotation or else use math expressions to have an object rotationally point towards another keyframed object like in my template example

    or perhaps this orientation

You might want to post in the AE expressions forum as well

Sorry if I havent explained it well,
What I wanted to do,was move an object along a path(wich I can do,using the mask path)
But this object,in certain points of this path (OR of the timeline),have to do an instant rotation.
    Here’s an example cow.png
As I said, the rotation can be on the path or on the timeline,if that helps.
