I have a catapult that I created and I want to add rope to it. When the catapult releases it would be great to have the rope spool out.

How would I go about creating rope? I have the full Cinema 4D package with dynamics but I just don;t know where to start.

    Any ideas would be great

    Thanks,

Clothilde or the Spline Dynamics of the Hair module would do the dynamics part nicely, but if you really mean “spooling” as in unrolling/ rolling a rope onto a reel, then that would have to be hand-animated. Some helix spline inside a sweep NURBS with animated End/ Start should do this most efficiently.

Either Hair as Mylenium mentioned or DPIT (https://www.dpit2.de) which can also do rope dynamics.

Thanks for the ideas. I will give them a shot. The spooling thing might be a little hard and I understand that. I think I would want the rope to just extend out as the catapult launches to keep it realistic.

    Thanks,
