Rookie Question : Uninstalling quicktime x and reinstalling quicktime 7
HI All,
I have been reading a lot here that quicktime x is not something to be trusted and should be removed and that I should be using quicktime 7.
Normally I’d just go ahead and delete the app and install the new one but I am afraid that I’ll end up corrupting the entire final cut pro suite somehow. If someone could point me in the direction of some good instructions I would be very appreciative. Also when I install 7 will it automatically register for Pro or do I need a serial key from FCP?

You do NOT remove QuickTime X. You just install QuickTime 7 (actually it really only installs the QuickTime 7 Player) from your Snow Leopard Install Disk.
FCS automatically recognizes you as a ProApp user and your QuickTime 7 player has the Pro features enabled.
You cannot uninstall any version of QuickTime itself (it’s a lot more than just the player) from MacOSX…it’s deeply tied into the operating system.
