I’m trying to make rolling credit in Final Cut Pro. The easiest way I’ve come across is to make a photoshop file of the credits then scroll it up the screen. So far, so good. Yet when I render the movie, the text is jittery…it kinda flickers on and off at the top and bottom of each letter. Does anyone have any suggestions or alternative solutions to rolling credits???

Yes, use Title Crawl. It’s part of Boris Calligraphy–if it’s not installed look in the Extras folder of the install disk. It has a deflicker option.

    Wilson,

do you have AE? That will give you the best results. Take your PS file and animate it in AE.
Beats Boris Title Crawl hands down.

You need motion blur applied to the photoshop file to make it smoother. It’s in the Motion Tab. Set the amount for 25 and the steps to the maximum settings. See if that works better.

Anytime you apply a motion to any layer in FCP, whether it’s a graphic or video, you need to apply a motion blur to it to keep the movement smooth.
