  Roll your own custom vignette

  I’ve built a very quick and rough custom vignette using the effect template in motion and then published back to FCP.

  I know there is a vignette filter already in fcp, which if you open a copy of it up in motion you will see it is just the vignette filter.

  This effect that I have uploaded to the files section of my profile is just a basic solid with an elliptical mask attached, with parameters published which enables you to adjust x,y scale of mask, feather and choose your own colour back in fcp.

  Extract zip to:

  user name / Movies / Motion Templates / Effects

  Create your own folder here, such as custom effects, and unzip to this folder

  Nothing special, but just a good learning process I have found it to be for building your own bag of tricks.
