Whenever I restart my G5 at work, some (but not all) of my desktop icons, primarily my hard drives and various file icons, are getting shifted around on the desktop. Mostly (but not always) it’s the icons I have lined up on the right side of my right screen (I have a dual monitor setup), although sometimes icons on the left of the same screen get shifted around too. I don’t remember seeing icons on my left screen moved.

Is there a setting somewhere that locks all icons so they stay put? Needless to say, this is really annoying. Thanks.

    How full is your desk-top?

    Cheers

Not overtly full. Not sure why that would make a difference. I’ve had desktops that were more full of icons, files, and whatnot in OS 9 and earlier and nothing ever wandered off. I’ve only seen this phenomenom in OS 10.
