Is there a keyboard shortcut to magically ripple a clip the the timeline cursor position?

I play a clip, hit stop where I want the clip to start, I’d like to hit a key that does the equivalent of dragging the head of the clip to the right to where I want the clip to start.

Searching the keyboard shortcuts but not sure if my description/semantics are correct…

I think you’re referring to extend. Highlight the end of a clip and press “e.” The clip will roll (not ripple) to your cursor point if there’s nothing in the way.

Very close but something new for me. Not quite but a very nice keyboard shortcut for sure.

Have you investigated the Trim Edit Window? Go to the transition between two cips in the timeline. Use edit selection tool or double click with the roll or ripple tool, then you will see the trim edit window. Click on the side that you want to edit, so that only that side has a green line over it. Play to the frame you want, then make that the inpoint (keyboard shortcut “i”, or there’s many other ways to do it).

    Is this something useful?
