Ripple or Wave
I added a ripple effect to a layer it previews fine, but when I render, the layer is blank. Nothing there. Tried a wave. Same results. Any ideas? Oh AE 6.5 I even turned off all other layers and no change that layer renders with nothing on it.

Have you tried exporting a video that has no effects applied? Does this render fine?
What are your output settings?
you can perform an easy test: Export a video, choose for video compressor the “No Compression” option and and render
if it renders fine, choose a different codec (or change the original params)
