October 26, 2006 at 4:03 pmUse the formula deformer on a plane. The default formula will create exactly what you need – a concentric ripple. Alternatively use the Ripple shader on your material.

October 26, 2006 at 5:25 pmI did both, created an animated bump map that worked well, but with the formula how do i start the ripple and have it die off before it reaches the end of the plane?

October 27, 2006 at 8:03 amYou’d need to add a multiplier to the sinus along the X and Z direction based on distance. That’s probably a bit too complex for what you need to do so it’s probably best to stick with the materila approach. ;O)
