Ripple Cut in After Effects
Posted by Martyn Morris on July 27, 2010 at 8:15 amHi there,
I have a lot of clips to remove from the timeline and was wondering if anyone knows how to perform a Ripple Cut in After Effects as you can in Final cut??.
Or if there are any scripts out there that would Ripple Cut??.
This would save me a great deal of time.
Thanks, Martyn

I have tried the solutions from the link you have sent but did not work. I thought the Extract Work Area. The gap is closed by ripple deletion would be the solution but unfortunately it left a gap.
I’m using CS4 if that helps.
Thanks Martyn.

July 27, 2010 at 11:06 amI just tried Edit > Extract Work Area, and it left no gap.
If this isn’t working for you, please provide an exact, step-by-step account of what you’re doing and what’s happening. Screenshots would help.

July 27, 2010 at 11:32 amAh. I see your problem. Read the instructions again. They instruct you to set a work area. The work area defines the duration (time span) that will be removed and then closed by ripple deletion.
