A producer gave me a DVD copy of his film and asked me to rip it. He wanted to make a directing reel.

Since it was ripped through mpeg-4 (i know) into an *.mov and I edited it and rendered it in broadcast format…it looks like a low budget, grainy and TOO DARK 60’s movie (which it is not).

He wants me to “lighten” it. How can i do this with FCP effects like 3 way color corrector or do i need to go into Final Cut Color, of which I know nothing. Oh would it be any better if the sequence was HD and what export settings should I use?

    Thanks,
    Amit
