  • Rigid Body Tag Problem, dynamics broken?

Posted by Gregory Anderson on December 12, 2010 at 10:15 pm

Hi, I’m having a problem with my C4D. When I attach a rigid body tag to even the most simple of scenes e.g. a sphere, it won’t fall or react to any other dynamics. I’ve tried resetting my preferences, and a variety of other things, but none worked. It’s probably something stupid I’m doing because I haven’t worked with C4D in ages, can anyone help?

    what version of C4D?

Sorry, forgot to include that small detail, 11.5.

Are you using a MoDynamics rigid body tag or a Dynamics module”Rigid Body Dynamic” tag? They’re two completely different systems in 11.5 (but not in 12).

Just the regular MoDynamics rigid body tag (although it’s under MoGraph clearly)… I don’t know what’s happening!

You realize that modynamics only applies physical simulations to mograph objects, right? So if you want to apply physics to a sphere, for example, then the sphere either has to be inside of a cloner or a fracture object. Regular C4D objects can be colliders, but they won’t react to the physical simulation.

Thank you! I knew it was something stupid, I’m rusty! Appreciate your help, and I’m looking forward to getting more involved in the community! 🙂
